Summer Sundays in the Park
Summer Sundays in the Park is JHBG’s series of free outdoor entertainment and community gatherings held in Jackson Heights parks during the summer months. The program brings neighbors together for afternoons of live music, performances, family activities, and relaxation in the green spaces that define our neighborhood.
Free Entertainment for Everyone
Throughout the summer, JHBG hosts Sunday afternoon events in local parks featuring a rotating lineup of live music, dance performances, storytelling, and other entertainment. All events are free and open to the public, reflecting JHBG’s commitment to making cultural programming accessible to every resident of Jackson Heights regardless of background or income.
Strengthening Community Bonds
Summer Sundays create a regular occasion for neighbors to come together, meet new people, and enjoy shared experiences in the open air. Families spread blankets on the grass, children play, and residents of all ages gather to enjoy the performances and each other’s company. These events reinforce the sense of community that makes Jackson Heights a great place to live.
How You Can Help
Summer Sundays relies on donations and volunteers to cover performer fees, equipment rental, permits, and event coordination. Whether you can contribute financially, help with setup and logistics, or simply spread the word, your support helps keep Summer Sundays free and accessible to all.
