Children's Halloween Parade

Children's Halloween Parade

The annual Children’s Halloween Parade is one of JHBG’s most beloved traditions and one of the largest community events in Jackson Heights. It is also the largest children’s parade in the city! Every October, thousands of children and their families take to the streets in costume for an afternoon or evening of fun, creativity, and neighborhood togetherness.

A Jackson Heights Tradition

Each year, costumed children parade through the streets of Jackson Heights accompanied by their families, neighbors, and friends. The parade route winds through the heart of the neighborhood, drawing spectators and participants from every corner of Jackson Heights. The event captures the warmth and community spirit that make this neighborhood special, giving families a safe, joyful way to celebrate Halloween together.

The event is always a festive display of creativity for children and adults of all ages. Celebrations include goodie bags and marching bands, more recently also a performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance. Local businesses and community organizations contribute to fund the parade. Along with volunteer support, the Children’s Halloween Parade is a true neighborhood collaboration.

Support the Parade

Your donations help cover the costs of permits, supplies, prizes, decorations, and event logistics. Volunteers are also needed to help with stuffing goodie bags, distributing them, and numerous other tasks.
