The Student Art Contest has been part of the Historic Jackson Heights Weekend for nearly 30 years, inviting K-8 local school students to participate by submitting their art work for judging. Each year a theme is proposed to the students, and while the initial focus was on the built environment in Jackson Heights, the subjects have varied over the years. The ultimate goal being to make our local students more aware of their neighborhood
This years subject: Draw or paint your favorite building in Jackson Heights.
For the 2025 competition coordinator Bonnie Astor received 83 wonderful art submissions. We thank all participants for their great work and will be holding a reception for winners and runner-ups.
