Engergy Forum, May 17 at 6:30 PM

On Thursday, May 17  at 6:30 PM at the Jewish Center, JHBG will be hosting an Energy Forum.

Learn how your building can save money on energy costs.

Money in Your Building
About 70% of NYC’s greenhouse gas emissions come from heating, cooling, lighting and powering our buildings. NYC Retrofit Accelerator is a free City program that helps retrofit buildings to use less energy.  Their staff will explain what energy conservation projects make sense for buildings like yours, and how to finance them.  Invite your coop and condo leaders and property managers.

Groundbreaking Climate Legislation Proposed for NY State

With Federal action blocked, NY State can lead by example. The Climate and Community Protection Act (CCPA) would legally require NY State government to reach 100% renewable energy by 2050, with strong labor standards and investment in communities impacted by climate change and inequality in mind. The Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA) would raise $7B of revenue per year to fund our renewable future through a modest fee on corporate polluters that damage our health and climate. This two-pronged platform is championed by NY Renews, a 140+ member coalition.  Learn how to help get it passed into law.
