Spring Planning Breakfast in ‪‎JacksonHeights‬

SpringPlaning

On Saturday, March 26th from 10 – Noon we will have our annual gardening planning breakfast.

The JHBG works every Saturday from 10 – noon on garden projects around Jackson Heights every Saturday from April thru November.

We started the “Green Zone” which runs alone the eastside of the BQE from 37th Ave. to Northern Blvd. It includes a tulip garden at 37th Avenue at the BQE entrance. Our oldest garden is before JHSCRAPs composting site and our newest garden across from what will be JH’s newest school at the old White Castle site.

We also have a garden next to the Food Bazaar parking lot on 34th Avenue and Junction Blvd.

We help maintain tree pits along 37th Avenue. We have built tree guards along 94th Street.

We help maintain the gardens around our local schools.‎ We have done a lot of work around PS 149, PS 280 and PS 69. We have worked with IS 230, IS 145 and PS 89. This year we would like to work with PS 148.

We have funding from Con Ed and will set our annual gardening plan at our breakfast on Saturday, March 26th.

Come with ideas of what you would like to see beautified in the neighborhood. If you are with a group come with specific Saturdays you would like to work on in the coming year.

Saturday, March 26th at 10 AM at 35-18 90th Street.

We will also be thanking some of the wonderful volunteers we had from last year!

I hope to see you there!
