Since 2004, JHBG has been bringing stellar artists to Travers Park every Sunday in the summer time. There’s something for everyone, from the Jackson Heights Orchestra, blues, classic rock, Mariachi, and jazz. The will also be performances from Theater of the New City and a City Park’s Foundation’s famous Puppet Mobile.
Queens—and Jackson Heights in particular—is known and lauded for its diversity, so why not celebrate that diversity through music?
If you are a local artist or performer who is interested in performing or other upcoming opportunities in the neighborhood contact us at info@JHBG.org.
Travers Park is located between 77th and 78th Streets and runs from 34th Avenue nearly to Northern Boulevard. It’s the only official public park in Jackson Heights, and a wide variety of residents rely on and enjoy the park. There are handball courts, basketball hoops, a tennis net, and a toddler area.
On Sundays, a Greenmarket brings fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as baked goods, honey, eggs, and flowers, to the park. Musical performances follow the Greenmarket.
