Dear Neighbors and Friends,
As we all adjust to a changed world post-pandemic, we at the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, have been working to enhance our programming every year, recently celebrating our Annual Halloween Parade, keeping our composting center open all year round at JH-SCRAPS as the city’s organics program takes off, while our TreeLC team remains the most active volunteer tree care group in the city for a second year in a row. Additionally, the JH Orchestra continues to offer concerts with a range of musicians, and our other long-standing programs–Friends of Travers Park, Clean Streets, Graffiti Removal, and our JH Crew Dog Run on 69th street–also remain in operation keeping our neighborhood clean and active, including for our pets. As if this wasn’t enough, we have been growing our summer concert series every year. Summer Sundays in the Park at Travers Park has taken care to employ diverse artists, a population hit especially hard by the pandemic, remaining out of work for a prolonged period of time. This year in particular, our lineup was carefully curated to better serve our neighborhood by highlighting some of the best artists from the diverse cultural groups living here.
As we approach our 35th year, JHBG is still passionately committed to our neighborhood, expanding our mission to support individuals and organizations with a shared goal of enriching life in the community we love. In this same spirit, we are calling upon you, our neighbors, to help JHBG fund our Summer Sundays in the Park series in 2023.
We urge you to please join us on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 and support JHBG! Your gift will help our organization fund one of the highlights of life in the neighborhood. Your gift is tax deductible, as we are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Please consider us this year during this season of giving. We appreciate your support over the years and look forward to continuing to serve you.
